In what kinds of situations is a coach helpful?
Coaching is for you if you are mostly successful in your
endeavors, but need some focused assistance to:
- Be accountable to what you say you want
- Stay in consistent action toward your goals
- Make significant personal changes
- Overcome a life challenge
Can’t I obtain the same results myself?
You can do great things alone, but consider:
- Your best thinking got you where you are. Are you
aware of your thinking?
- When you look around your life, who is the only person
you cannot see? (Yourself, of course!) A mirror is
needed to view your own image. If you want to truly see
your
life, a coach can reflect back your words, perspectives,
underlying commitments and choices so you can make
conscious decisions.
- Can you really hold yourself accountable,
especially when things don’t go as expected?
Even as a coach, I have my own coach. Can’t
my friends and family provide the same type of support
as a coach?
Supportive, resourceful individuals in your inner circle
can be allies in achieving some of your goals, but rising
stars go beyond the familiar to experience exponential
growth. Studies have shown that impartial coaches outside
one’s immediate framework yield the best results.
Does coaching really work?
My clients have made significant personal changes with
coaching that you can read about here. Many executives,
athletes and organizations have experienced great returns
on investments made in coaching. Read the online articles,
try it, and decide for yourself.
When is the right time to work with a coach?
If you hesitate to answer these questions, you can probably
benefit from working with a coach:
1. Are there results in your life/organization based
on your dreams/vision?
2. Who do you want to be?
3. What lasting impact do you want to make?
If you have answers to these questions, I congratulate
you on your progress!
